You can pay very large companies like Wikipedia, Microsoft, Expedia and Overstock with Bitcoin. Many companies are also now accepting instant Lightning payments, with very low fees too! Companies like Bitrefill, where you can top up credits and your phone, buy gift cards and many other digital items. Just recently, Bitrefill’s John Carvalho said that number of Lightning payments are greater than payments received from all alt coins that are enabled on their site. Don’t get too disheartened by decreasing stats about the Lightning Network, as privacy is increasing and more lightning channels are going dark! Bitcoin rated No 1 by Weiss, & most used crypto for payments, is accepted by many companies large and small. Here is a big list of just some of the companies that accept Bitcoin payments - https://99bitcoins.com/bitcoin/who-accepts/
So Morocco just banned cryptocurrencies days after a company called MTDS announced that it accepts Bitcoin as payment. The news was quickly relayed on local media and now the Change Office issued a press release stating that cryptocurrencies transactions are banned and will be sanctioned by law.
Overstock.com should offer a small discount when customers pay with Crypto.
Overstock.com is a fantastic company and one of the only big companies that accepts Bitcoin payments directly and Altcoin payments indirectly (through shapeshift). I just made a $50 purchase and paid using Litecoin. When all was said and done I paid just about $55 (network fees/exchange rate). To me $5 is a small price to pay to support a company that is helping push crypto into the mainstream. However for the everyday person it is difficult enough to go through the process of paying with crypto the fact that it costs more isn't the best incentive for adoption. So my proposal for Overstock.com would be to offer an additional 5% discount when users pay with crypto. Or at least a 2% discount (cost saved from using traditional credit cards).
Help with finding information - Markets in which Bitcoin is being used most? Percentage of income by BTC in companies that accept it as payment?
Hi all, Thanks for reading this! I am working on a project regarding the success of Bitcoin within different market structures. To answer my question, I needed more information on the questions mentioned above. It would be very useful to know the markets in which Bitcoin is currently being used the most, such as investment, electronics, restaurants, etc. The other aspect I have doubts about is the percentage of income made in Bitcoin by companies that accept Bitcoin as a payment for their products or services. If anyone has ANY information on this, or know of any resources I might be able to use, please send them my way! Anything would be greatly appreciated!
Services That Will Allow My Company to Accept Bitcoin as Payment?
I work in demand generation for an international B2B software company. I see people searching our keywords along with queries like "pay with btc" fairly often now. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with a bitcoin shopping cart / 3rd party processing service? Is there a service that we can hire to manage this for us? We're not looking to getting into hedging, just looking for a service or multiple services that will allow us to accept bitcoin payments and then transfer them into USD.
